    A Dieter's Interpretation of Love

Love is patient. It will wait for at least 12 minutes for cookies to bake and then another 30 seconds so that the hot cookie doesn't burn the tongue.

Love is kind. It will offer a nice bowl of ice cream to a fellow friend who is having a bad day - even if it means a skimping on one's own serving.

... and envies no one. (Except for the lady who got the last brownie behind the deli counter. That's just asking too much to not envy that.)

Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude. It is hard to be those things with your mouth full. You're too busy chewing to say rude things.

... never selfish, not quick to take offense... (see Love is kind. Sharing is always nicer than eating alone.)

There is nothing that love cannot face. Not even a diet, no matter how hard and difficult it seems.

there is no limit to its faith, its hope and endurance... the promise of dessert on a diet can hold one over for a very, very long time. (All the way from lunch until dinner on a good day, in fact.)
